Rally Tasmania entry list confirmed

The entry list for the 2026 Subaru Wilderness Rally Tasmania has been confirmed with 17 crews to take on the picturesque forests of Burnie later this month.

Serving as the fourth round of the 2026 EROAD Australian Rally Championship (ARC) and the first endurance round of the year, the highly anticipated round will see crews battle it out over more than 200 competitive kilometres across 15 stages as the Subaru WRX Challenge makes its return along with a number of familiar faces.

Headlining the entry list are Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia and Pedders Rally Team Protected by Famous Insurance, with both teams entering their regular two cars and continuing the ongoing battle between the two.

As usual, the two Toyota GR Yaris Rally2 cars will be driven by current leaders Harry Bates and Coral Taylor and their teammates Lewis Bates and Anthony McLoughlin, while Pedder Rally Team remains led by title contenders Scott Pedder and Glenn Macneall in the Skoda Fabia RS Rally2 and their teammates Jackson Long and Damien Long in the Skoda Fabia R5.

In the WOLF Sport Cup, Josh Redhead and Ray Winwood-Smith lead the 12-car field on board their WINPART Group Mitsubishi Lancer EVO 5, with the current leaders’ biggest threats to come in the form of multiple-time WOLF Sports Cup champion Bodie Reading and reigning Subaru WRX Challenge champion Toby Price.

Subaru Wilderness Rally Tasmania will be Reading’s first outing of the year as he heads into his home round behind the wheel of the Les Walkden Rallying Subaru Impreza with Brad Jones calling the notes.

As for Price, he and young gun Riley Walters are also the biggest challengers for WOLF Sports Cup honours, as Price and co-driver Ben Searcy currently sit in second place on the standings, while Walters and co-driver Andrew Crowley are fourth – an impressive feat considering both Price and Walters missed the Toyota Gazoo Racing Narooma Forest Rally.

Other key entries for the popular cup are home-grown talents Jaidyn Gluskie and Mark Young in their 2003 Subaru WRX Impreza and rookie Jarrod Keyte and his co-driver James Brown – the latter of which currently rounds out the top five for the Cup.

While both Price and Walters will have their eyes firmly on some WOLF Sports Cup silverware, they will also resume their intriguing battle in the Subaru WRX Challenge, which returns for the first time since the ARC Plant Hire Forest Rally.

As it stands, the ever-experienced Price and Searcy have had the edge over first-year driver Walters and Crowley; however, the young rising star will be hoping to close the gap on home soil.

The other three crews in the category remain unchanged from the opening two rounds, with Jeff David/Grant Geelan, Andy van Kann/Catherine Saayman and Graham Iddles/Daymon Nicoli all confirmed to continue with the one-make class.

Rounding out the entry list are a host of regulars with Tony Sullens and Julia Barkley in their MRF-backed Peugeot 208 in the outright class and a trio of WOLF Sports Cup entries in The Stable’s Nathan Stokes and Ian Wheeler, DRC 4×4’s Darren and Michelle Crozier and Racing Dipsy’s Shane and Sylvie Garner – the latter of which are cross-entered in the Classic Cup.

Subaru Wilderness Rally Tasmania serves as the fourth round of the ARC and takes place in the northern Tasmanian town of Burnie on 14-16 August.
